What we do

City of York Safeguarding Adults Board works with organisations across York to help protect adults with care and support needs from abuse or neglect. The Board includes representatives from 13 key organisations across York, including City of York Council, health services, the police and independent care providers.

The Board works with organisations across the city to ensure that they have effective safeguarding policies and procedures in place and work together in the best way possible to protect adults with care and support needs.

The three core duties of the Board are to:

  • publish an Annual Report and Executive Summary
  • publish an annual strategic plan
  • review (carry out a Safeguarding Adults Review) of serious safeguarding cases
