The CYSAB is responsible for ensuring any learning identified within the report has clear recommendations to action change. The SAR Delivery Panel will develop an action plan to deliver on the recommendations which must be SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time bound, identifying an owner for each action.
The SAR subgroup will be responsible for monitoring the action plan to completion. CYSAB members will be held accountable for these actions at board meetings and via the SAR Delivery Panel and SAR Subgroup.
Action plans will be monitored by the SAR Subgroup who will meet a minimum of four times a year to review and check progress on each action. Quarterly feedback will be fed into the CYSAB through quarterly reporting.
When all actions are completed, the SAR Subgroup will recommend the action plan for closure in the quarterly report to the SAB. It is the responsibility of CYSAB members to ensure that learning and service change from any safeguarding review is understood, embedded and evidenced with their organisation, to ensure impact is measured. More information on measuring impact can be found in Improving and Measuring the Impact from Safeguarding Adults Reviews - A toolkit to support sector-led improvement.
Further assurance will be sought by the SAR Subgroup 12 months thereafter to ensure changes in practice have been embedded and the impact can be evidenced.
Regular reports on the overall work of SAR Subgroup including ‘live’ referrals, action plans, including any themes and reviews will be presented to the CYSAB by the SAR Subgroup Chair.
A summary of the impact of SARs will be published in the CYSAB annual report which will be available on this website.
